“And something inside me calms down…”, so Miguel Torga tells us in the poem “Pátria”. Refúgio da Caniçada is a space dedicated to peace, nature and the relationships it welcomes. With us you can recharge your energy to discover this corner of Portugal called Gerês. This house is also about the people you see entering, their memories and relationships. The Refúgio da Caniçada can awaken countless sensations within you.
This house offers several options for living and getting to know Gerês. It is close to adventurous trails, river beaches, sublime waterfalls, historic villages and viewpoints that you can enjoy. If you choose to stay at home, there are so many ways to strengthen relationships: talking, in silence, reading a book or listening to music. For those who go out during the day, the feeling of returning home is real. It might even be strange. How is it possible to feel at home when I’m far from home?
